About

Songs about
the quiet stuff.

I’m LoneHero: a songwriter, producer and sound engineer. I write about the things people carry without saying much. The mum running on empty. The friend who sits with you without needing the details. The day you finally say no. The summer you’d give anything to rewind.

The songs

Every song is a small story, and every story belongs to someone: a mum at six in the morning, three friends in the back of a car, a robot left for scrap, a kid with a Walkman in 2005.

The sound moves wherever the story needs it to: acoustic, UK garage, afro house, alt rock, indie folk, big beat funk, 70s soul, new jack swing. What stays the same is the point of view. These are songs for the people who keep going quietly, and for the people who notice them.

You won’t see my face in the films, for now. The characters carry the stories: Pip the little robot, Mateo and his guitar case, the mum dancing in her kitchen before the school run.

How a song gets made

From a line
to a film.

  1. 01

    Words first

Every song starts with the lyric and the story it needs to tell: who it’s for, what they’re carrying, and the line they need to hear.

  2. 02

    Finding the sound

I sketch each song in different styles until one fits, using modern tools for the session players and singers I can’t get into a room.

  3. 03

    Finished in Logic

Then the real work: cutting, rearranging, layering and mixing in Logic Pro until it sounds the way it did in my head.

  4. 04

    A film for every song

Each song gets its own illustrated film that tells the story in order, start to finish, cut to the beat.

“The tools help. The meaning is mine.”

The music is here because I love making it, and because these stories deserve to be heard. I’ve written about how I work and where I draw the line with modern tools.
